TL;DR fellas, i just feel to make this thread because we already went too far from da wei of a forum. as we can see we're barely interact on most of subforums and personally it goes for me too as i tend just come for leeching. but sometimes i do post reply on some threads because it's hot enough

as on this beautiful morning (at least on my place duh), i'm seeing an unsightly material that (imho) it could get atually prevented if we're doing more discussion, so it's lowering the chance of miscommunication

All what i want to say is that we're in a community form, so if you could please discuss more or at least on critical changes. keeping on silent isn't good, because we're on forum base

I admit my worse sin of being part of this forum yet i actually just leeching all day, and i'm that guy who ask for so many titles to your s-mod (but i swear i followed the guide and it's pretty much hard to convice her to encode certain titles lol)
It'll be sad to lose one of my best encoder that already saved so many GBs of my disk space, not to mention she's the most loyal for the forum from my pov.

that to be said, i hope y'all get enough time to backup most of her uploads at worse. but i really wish that we could fix this without further mess so we could happily enjoying anime(s) from now and later

[Spring 2018] Sorry, I am posting this late

I am new in animation field. Just starting my career in animation. Now I am working in 3Ds max. I heard about Maya which is cost effective choice in game development. Any one tell me which is most user friendly and effective one?

Alright so I'm using Toon Boom to create a cartoon but I have a simple question.
When animating a new toon are you creating one scene at a time and exporting it to a video software like Vegas or after effects to piece it together for the final product or are you just making the whole toon on one timeline in the animation software?

Grimoire Archive

[Image: AB210_C0_BA84_FAD144_FB745_B5_DAC3_C32_E616_CA298.jpg]

General Thread to handle Animegrimoire archive.
Archival method which we used here are quite unusual than regular backup. The main keys are; we'll never share direct link from backup cloud into public, we're storing files that completely unique to avoid cloud provider from taking down files based on matched file hash (just like what MEGA, Dropbox, Google Drive did), but these method are come with it's price. So far, we're limited with computing power and bandwidth limit to push file into public per IP. Like, MEGA, for example, it's safe to say that we're limited into continuous 1GB per hour.

Here's a simplified diagram to explain most of backup process:
Show Contentbackup_diagram:
Most of backend processing are done with Python and Bash, while for CLI uploads into public sharing are heavily rely on megatools. another viable options for upload are gdrive-cli but so far we're hesitant to use it.

By 01st October 2018, we're reaching 222.6Gb total.
Show ContentArchive Total:

As for file list, you could check it here. Each sheet name are self-explanatory, but i want to point out that Relics are sourced from old Cyber12 encodes, and most of them are 360p. Freezed itself, is taken from dlc/Completed Season and it's outside Legendary Aurora's account.

This thread means to encourage Anime Uploader submitting their encodes here to be preserved. As long as we have certain backup of your thread, we will help restore yours in case it got deleted due expired urls, or another case such as DMCA takedown notice. Starting Fall 2018 season, i'll be archiving your On-going season after it's finished for a week without your request as long as you met these certain requirement:
  1. Correctly following main guideline.
  2. animegrimoire watermark are remain unmodified with additional text such as "encoded by ---", "uploaded by--" .etc
  3. used resolution are restricted to 720p without involving upscaling. Except: it was coming from DVD rip (576p) and downscale from 1080p BD to 720p. modifying these are considered as outside of guidelines (such as, you're clearly using 720p sources but you're downscaling them to 576p)
  4. File name pattern, see:
Quick guide to massively rename files are here, or if you want to just use saved preset are way more quickly which you could see here. You could download it from main guide thread. Overall encoding process are like this
  5. folder download link must be available in the end of episode releases.

OK for a quick rundown. First point is obvious, especially for On-going season.
Second, it should be done automatically if you are following the main guide. other way, i could skip it as long as i could verify it's availability in your thread while your ID are 1 month or older, and you own more than 1 (One) Thread, as for additional text/note, they're outside of our support, we simply won't bother to archive what isn't dedicated for this forum.
Third, fifth are self-explanatory.
Fourth, well this is troublesome. I asked this for the sake of archive tidiness, there are too few people that interested for Episode Title which could be accessible in their wiki, or public anime list site (if they're really interested). And another thing which worth to mention, replacing plain dash with _-_ are plain messy if it's going to archive list, and never expect i'll do it for you.

if in later date i skipped your ongoing season into backup (because you somehow missed the minimum requirement), you could always sent me a PM for archive request. Just make sure you met minimal requirement above and you'll be fine. Once archiving is done, i'll notify on your requested thread. Stay safe!

[Guide] How to create animegrimoire encoding quality using HandBrakeCLI

$
0
0
Show Contenttl;dr:

Gitlab: //gitlab/initramfs-0/animegrimoire

  1. Prepare your handbrake with fdk-aac included.
Follow guidelines from handbrake documentation and see the gitlab link.
  2. clone animegrimoire.sh, +x it and put (or symlink) in your binary folder.
    mine was in ~/.local/bin/animegrimoire
  3. clone x264_Animegrimoire.json, put it somewhere and then copy it's path and put it inside animegrimoire.sh
    mine was in ~/.local/preset/x264_Animegrimoire.json
  4. download this font pack and extract it in your ~/.fonts folder and then run
    $ fc-cache -f -v
  5. Start encoding

How-to-use:

For normal Ongoing-type occasion, use:
     ./animegrimoire.sh [Ayylmaosubs] This anime title - 01 [720p].mkv

On BDs or if source file also have [CRC32] tag on it use:

     ./animegrimoire.sh [Ayylmaosubs] This anime title - 01 [720p][12345678].mkv NUM
=>./animegrimoire.sh [Ayylmaosubs] This anime title - 01 [720p][12345678].mkv 42

so the script only read character number 1-42 while ignoring CRC32 tag.

for other case, such as encoding whole folder with Fumikiri Jikan episode 1 to 12, you only need to do:

$ls -l
----------------------------------------------
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 01 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 02 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 03 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 04 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 05 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 06 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 07 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 08 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 09 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 10 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 11 [720p].mkv
[HorribleSubs] Fumikiri Jikan - 12 [720p].mkv
--------------------------------------------------

use a for loops:
Code:
$ for FILE in 'ls | grep mkv'; do animegrimoire $FILE; done

This json is also usable if you prefer to stay in GUI, just clone and import it to your HandBrake
The script is also can be used to upload file output once it's finished encoding using rclone. just define your rclone.conf and you're set.

Important: preset reference
[OK] make sure Handbrake has identical bitrate output to MeGUI preset
[OK] make sure progressive deinterlacing works fine
[OK] make sure x264 animation tuning works fine
[OK] make sure it has 2 pass, speeding up in first pass is acceptable without Fast decode / fast 1-st pass
[OK] make sure it could handle subtitle nicely, include multi-layer subtitle with color effects (happens often in BD sources)
[OK] make sure it's x264 doesn't do 10-bit by accident, it's ever happens and really slow down encoding process
[OK] make sure watermarking works fine (like, the old cyber12.ass to put animegrimoire.org)
[OK] make sure chapter embedding works fine, again for BD cases
[OK] make sure force-stereo works fine, BD sometimes has 5.1 and you need nobrain workaround with native tools
[OK] make sure it doesn't use hardware (GPU) acceleration is pure CPU encoding
[OK] make sure picture filtering works

[Open Discussion] Let's go P2P?

Hi all, been awhile since i spouting nonsense but here we go. we've been discussing this idea in discord but those fuckers are doing nothing but laugh at the forum (fuck you)

As you can see, i have about 370 threads by now, and it's mostly downloadable in DLC subforum.
It really makes me want to cry because managing those stuff aren't exactly easy, and i've been playing catch with dmca trolls from time to time. It's not so easy to re-upload whole 350+ GB of stuff to somewhere else, and regenerate share links from that folders. And i can't find any file hosting which allow me to upload that much, with rclone support, or API support FOR FREE. yea i'm not gonna spend a dime on file hosting because it's all just gonna be waste if those copyright bot back to scraping again. yes i tried it, i tried to use paid MEGA.nz and it's gone less than a year.

at the moment mega.nz announced that they will terminate account that has few login activities, few download activities, or hurr try our paid plan durr!! i said fuck it. you probably will get to my post when i still seethe about it here if you dig deep enough.

and then i moved to another alternate, i uses my onedrive account (which is an enterprise account, linked to my employer). at first it went really fine. IT'S REALLY FINE. until some dumbfuk on our company installed cracked app because they're too lazy to notify the IT admins, teehee oopsie whoopsie OwO we got caught by ransomware!
It wasn't really funny because everyone's account got suspended by instant. and after following the account usage audit, i got caught in trouble because i generate too much links.
The content is fine, anime is fine, i just got really bad warning for generating way too much link for public. till now mine still suspended though, no i don't get fired dw
Once it's back i dare to use my onedrive again (because we could met in agreement, public link is fine but it must be less than 30 days). setting 29days expiry is easy enough, hell yea who wouldn't an easy download link?

now back to the main problem, keeping the Ongoing link alone is plenty of work because for some reason i tend to take 6-7 titles at once during airing season, those beggar doesn't help at all and asking for more?!! (gee, color me pink surprised). and then i have to take requests for completed titles, ovas, movies, boom suddenly you have 370 threads count in total.. wut???

i got really fed up with changing download links, and it's really grinds my gears when i have to put my downloader at malvertising risks like i've been doing lately (using uptobox, because it's dead easy to bulk url upload and same goes for mirror creator). there are people that tell me i shouldn't give a fuck whether i'll put every single of you on risk because you beans supposed to learn how to protecc yourself using dns sink / umatrix /whatever. but personally i can't accept that idea, it just felt wrong tho, just because i knew more that doesn't give me an excuse to be a dick

and then i stroll around looking for alternative, i tried IPFS because i think it's really great, hey you can just use your web browser to download them, and let the server owner dealing with pain in the ass technical problem.
did it worked out? well, yes. but actually, no. we can put files to online, connected to 10k+ of other nodes, and then the downloader could succ the files at 2MBps speed. what a fucking joke
the actual reason we have to drop it is that they got memory leak problem on their used libraries, caused our half-gig server to drop all of the connections, saturate our network ports, and then we got suspended by the host.

IPFS isn't a good idea to put for use YET.

and then i got offered to upload them to torrent sites, like anidex or nyaa. but i said no, i wanted more privacy but not as autistic as private torrents. if you want to put animegrimoire stuff on torrent, yea do that on your own. i won't help seeding because i don't want to, and it'll add my job to upload a torrent files to those site. i can assure you i'm the most lazyass person in this forum
The Shit:

so i asked what kind of sorcery is that allow me to share files to various devices like:
x86 platform: Yo' granny mama PC
x86_64 platform: usually what used around now, hurrrr ayymd vs intel!!
ARM platform: android phones, raspberry pis, allmighty chinese clone overlord orange pi, banana pi, your smartv, rice cooker, coffe maker (y gonna download files on those?)
mac platform: alright this is wrong, they're either x86_64 or arm, just with a bit "special care"

with minimal hassle, the dmca bots won't easily download it (yes, the one who keeps taking down shit are actually just a bot), and it's easy to follow. the answer was Syncthing.

So in summary, i installed syncthing on my fedora server, and you installed syncthing in your windows laptop (for example)

1. you install syncthing, and you give your Syncthing ID to me
2. me, an intellectual: record your ID
3. me, added your syncthing ID to my Syncthing server as frens (were they called 'friends'? or 'peers'? not sure)
4. me, start sharing myfolders to you.

The folder will looks like this, so you can selectively pick which anime are you interested on

/Ongoing
/Ongoing/Azur Lane/
/Ongoing/PSO2 - Episode Oracle/
/Ongoing/Honzuki no Gekokujou/
/Other
/Other/Trinity Seven - da moovie
/Other/NEKOPARA OVA/
/Other/The Manga Guides/
/Completed
/Completed/Kabaneri in Ayylmao Fortress
/Completed/Attack on Titan S3
/Request
/Request/Something uhhhh/

5. you, an intellectual: select which shit are you interested on

here's how to pick it. If you interested only on my Ongoing season, you can put a checkmark on "/Ongoing" folder and ignore the rest. this way, you'll be automatically downloading my ongoing stuff.
BUT if you only wanted the Azur Lane, you only put a checkmark on Azur Lane folder and ignore the "/Ongoing". so you'll specifically only download Azur Lane folder.

the big plus in this method is that you'll get the file as soon as i put it on my server, without waiting me uploading them to file cloud server. YES i am so lazy that i ended procastinating like a day before i bumping my thread, even if the files already uploaded lol.

What's your thought sharing files this way? sure it need effort in first time setting it up on first time, but i'm confident that i'm able to help setting them up regardless of your devices / platform.

i'm willing to try this out if there's 3 or 4 active downloader willing to try this. looks stupid but who cares if it's actually works. you get faster access than waiting me to reupload stuff somewhere else

only one of my main concern: i only have like 120GB ish spare space for this syncthing. so i'll manage it like this:

1. All of ongoing season is available in syncthing. After airing ends, it'll still available until next 30 days
2. All of movie/ova/completed title that encoded DURING ongoing season will available until next 30 days after ongoing stuff finished airing
3. I'll make up-to-date file list that currently available in syncthing
4. If you missing out, just ask the anime name and i'll put it back in "/Request" folder for next 30 days

This way, i can workaround the limited space and everyone happy.

Q: Where'd you get this idea?
A: on zeronet, some hongkong protester are sharing files this way and the can get away with it
Q: Holyshit
A: you're welcome

i really want your feedback on this. it's also feels so lonely that i've been years in here but people barely talked to me. i'm doing this everything for you but y tho you just ignoring me
i'm already at my new low that random user calling me a huge flaming faggot is considered as decent communication. i don't know what to do anymore, i literally almost get killed for keep uploading stuff here to make the forum alive, and keep getting told to stop encoding shit. if after everything that i done and still got no response, i really reconsider to take my pills and plug my life support off.

i got told to stop because i uses my employer's resources. can't really do much when your company already passed the paper because i got no decent communication isn't it. at least, it's been a good run. thank you for reading my rant

[HELP] Mind donating your hardware resources?

$

Hi folks,
It has been awhile since we're coming back to actively encoding, unfortunately per 31 December 2019 we're no longer able to do our encoding like usual because our donator decided to temporary stop their resources donation. Our life support isn't completely plugged off though, we still have a server that handle RSS bots, Leechbox, and quick management for backup flow. So we're not completely died, it's just.. dying.
So here I'd like to personally ask for help, we're pretty much at dead end. while most of us getting busy with their real life could be solved by scripting most of encoding process, the hardware resource for actual re-encoding job isn't getting a replacement. Please help us by lending few of your hardware resources to help us keep continue encoding for this forum.

Overall our encoding process looks like this:
Show ContentEncoding:
*Green one is usually what we publish in forum while black is a cold backup from our donator and yellow is given to people that we able to met them in RL, we already discussed to also giving access to our hardware donator.

We decided to transfer source files using Syncthing because it has less overhead, and the actual encoder doesn't have to waste a lot of traffic while downloading from torrent sources directly.

For our encoding workload, we need at least:
  • 1 Core Dedicated CPU with AVX support
  • 1 Gb DDR3 RAM
  • 23GB free space in host machine (If it's a VM)
  • Network that capable to connect to VPN (standard OpenVPN UDP port)
  • 1Mbps (125KBps) Internet Connection

I already proved this usage from more than 300+ titles. Yes please don't even bother to imagine using windows+megui in that environment, It's horrible but we're survived, nowadays we got quality of live improvement ever since this dood actually figures how that sorcery works and now we're using headless Linux for pretty much everything.

There are many ways to donate your hardware to us:
  1. Install Linux (Preferably CentOS, we can 100% guide you from start to end)
  2. Enable SSHD from systemctl
  3. Connect to my VPN server
  4. from here, i'll be configuring everything through ssh and you don't have to do anything else

I'm completely aware that everyone are uncomfortable to give me a barebone system (AND YOU MUST NOT. DO NOT TRUST RANDOM DUDE IN INTERNET ASKING FOR A FULL SYSTEM!).
So to be honest, i actually prefer Virtual Machine environment because it'll jail us properly and you actually can limit how many CPU, RAM, and Internet Bandwidth that we're allowed to use to.

Here's how to do it:
  1. Download vmware installer, install it (again, we can 100% guide you from start to end)
  2. Download our CentOS vmx image, restore it in your VMware, set hardware and network limitation.
  3. Turn on your machine, if your networking is configured properly, i'll able to access the vm right away because the VM will be preconfigured with VPN connection.

For encoding stuff, mostly it cost a lot of data.
 - Source file (the mkv) is 650MB-ish
 - After-product is 103MB-ish
If you sum both of them, and add a 20% tolerance, it's close to 915MB data used per episode. for one title alone, in a month (for 4 episode, weekly release) will cost 3.7GB of data.

I really open if you want to put more restriction such as only episode per week and nothing more. or if you desire only encodes certain title only, i'd even go lower for one episode for a month, i needed those resources so badly, i'll take anything that is available. can't be a choosy beggar isn't it.

Any of your help is appreciated, please let me know if you're willing to help me. send me a pm if you've got question or if you prefer me to dm you on another platform (discord, telegram, Line, whatsapp, Signal) just send your id to pm. I'll contact you as soon as i read it. Thank you in advance

*I'd like to explicitly mention that Legendary Aurora doesn't financially linked to Animegrimoire's administrative. we're never uses any donation that go through the forum, instead, our donator are directly contacting us.

This is the end.

Hey guys.

I just want to say thank you to all of you, the visitor of this website.
Unfortunately, I have to say goodbye.
This is a rollercoaster from the start, which may not have the best ups and downs.

I actually started this website on a whim, when Cyber12 is shutting down. As an University student at that time, I have so many time and fortunately have unlimited connection quota thanks to the university. In my country, uncapped unlimited quota is basically a godsend. I also barely have any money, so I need some donation to keep this site afloat. It's all fine and dandy until mid-2016.

In mid-2016, I have a big problem. My computer literally catching on fire from the charging port (a laptop). I've backing up the thesis, but I did not have a computer to encode. I ended up using my brother's laptop until graduation. I also use that laptop to encode, which have little power as that was an intel i3 mobile that super slow. I keep going because i did not have any choice.

Three months after graduation, I landed a job on a developer job, which have perks of having a laptop provided by them. That laptop was a-okay laptop for encoding. The problem is i did not have an uncapped unlimited quota internet as I cannot use the office internet for this (duh!).

End of 2018, i finally have the uncapped unlimited quota internet, and trying to keep up with the encoding. Unfortunately, I did not have any passion anymore for anime. I've never watch anime since graduation. So, encoding feels like "a job" for me, which actually are not a job.

And bring us to present day, where I've already have the money to keep the site, PC to encode, and quota to upload, but no passion whatsoever.

My main takeaway from this journey is

"EVEN IF YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO KEEP YOUR DREAM, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS PASSION"

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to these peoples:
  • RoriconKnight (as technical support for the website, he's the one guiding me to deploying the website)
  • reeyua (to back up my work when my computer is catching fire)
    and massive thank you to:
  • Legendary Aurora & Internet Explorer (and their teams, which supporting this website when i take a vacuum, and encoding many anime titles that i cannot count anymore, also they are the #1 donator!!)
also massive shout out to all the encoders that contributing to this website, from then and now.
and also YOU as the visitor of this website. THANK YOU!!!

This website will still available until March 2020. You can still sharing until then.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Lynx.
