Hello, Lynx here. Today i bring to you our changes.

  1. There will be a change to download section. I will rename it as Downloadable Content (DLC). It will contain 3 forums: Ongoing Anime, Completed Anime, OVA. Reason of change: at first i think that sectioning into seasons will make it easier to manage, but i noticed that the configuration make it hard to find new anime. So i decide to make it more simple, with the season using prefix.
  2. Uploader Permission will be deleted. Everyone can starting thread everywhere. Reason of change: i think the barrier to uploading is too high, so i think it is not wise to use uploader permission.
  3. Prefix. I will use Prefix to group all the anime by season start in downloadable content. e.g. Spring 2016 means that anime start in spring 2016. I will make the prefix until 2010, and the anime older than 2010 can use ancient tag. For people who wants and have been create thread, please use the appropriate prefix.
We also trying using new templates, it will be come next month. Stay tuned.

Review:
Story: 4/10
As another works from Jun Maeda and part of KEY VN adaptation (related: Clannad, Air, Kanon, Little Busters!, and recently Charlotte) I rate this one as another good work yet a boring one. Why?

Angel Beats story line took an idea of purgatory(afterlife) with the high school setting. High school setting is one of the best part which Maeda specialize at. While the plot actually works fairly well within that setting, there isn't actually anything that I found inspiring or moving in any way. In addition to this the whole basis of the story is that this particular purgatory is only for young people, however one has to question why this is so, and also why the only young people who get to go there are all people with regrets.

Throghout the story, you will discover a little bit of the characters previous live but you will see that this anime is not tear jerking as another work which previously made. Purgatory is the last chance a soul has to "get it right", and whilst Angel Beats does kind of show this, the lack of anyone who died for revenge makes the whole story unbalanced. The fact that almost everyone in the story only has regret makes the whole show a bit too sugary sweet, and while the whole series is actually pretty well written, this only makes the areas that are missing more pronounced.

The short duration of the series was at fault when the characters couldn't even get a proper development and backstory and mostly because of that, the story, on the whole, fell short. The huge amount of comic relief (at times, unneeded) didn't help much either. Honestly, they could surely have sacrificed some of the rather drawn-out comical scenes for some backstory right? Well, they obviously thought showing like only 6 backstory (out of 18+ SSS characters) is enough, otherwise they could have shown at least one or two more in just 13 episodes.

Also for the ending... well it's loved by a lot of people and disliked by others. As for me, I was very disappointed by it. The romance buildup towards the ending only had a few episodes to go for, and was rushed and just crammed together in the last few episodes, having almost no development whatsoever.

Character: 5/10
I feel like some of the characters in this show have a good amount of fanboys and girls. I feel this because their designs, along with the superb animation make these characters have a very good look, although their personalities all were clearly lacking. I personally found most of the characters FAR too one dimensional. This is especially true with the very large ensemble of side characters that never seem to get any proper attention or development. With an uninteresting lead, and one dimensional characters, it usually spells trouble. However, the fantastic character arcs for four of the characters were so good that I really can't say the characters were anything worse than above average. These arcs were truly fantastic. However, because the majority of the cast was one dimensional, predictable, and lacked development, the overall score for the characters cannot really be too high.
TL;dr: The character development is unsatisfactory. With a few development and the ending which feel too rushed.

Art: 8/10
The Art is a standout. It was just stunning, beautiful and eye-catching. The character and background designs were, overall, great. The animation was also great. It was crisp and fluid, and everything from character movements to the little bits of battle scenes we had were animated very well.
But more accurately you'll be able to notice the contrasts between darks and lights in every scene making it seem that the lights are bleeding into the darks making it brighter than it appears. Looking at one scene long enough may get heavy on the eyes, but it sure is pretty. Angel Beats! is very colorful, backgrounds are attractively detailed, and animation is smooth for the most part.

Sound: 9/10
Sound aspect, which I easily thought was the 2 of the best parts of the show, the other being the Art. The OP/ED were great but the soundtracks were really memorable to me. They fit the scenes very well, especially the beautiful and sad soundtracks. To me, without the soundtracks, some scenes wouldn't have felt the same way as it did.

Enjoyment: 7/10
I personally enjoyed Angel Beats! despite its flaws. Although most of the enjoyment score comes from the first couple of episodes, the last couple still weren't downright terrible, it was just too rushed to the point it became uninteresting. In my opinion, the comedy was decent but it was just too drawn-out. For the sad scenes, I personally found only one scene to be sad, I didn't cry, but it was still, sad.

Overall: 7/10
Overall, Angel Beats! is a good anime with some outstanding aspects to it, accompanied by departments where it could have been executed a LOT better. A longer duration could have helped a lot for Angel Beats! as it could have had more developed story and characters, but what's done is done.

I'd say Angel Beats! is on the overrated side, but being overrated doesn't mean that you shouldn't watch it. Who knows? For you Angel Beats could be a fun, sad, and enjoyable experience as a whole.

Genres: Action, Mecha, Sci-Fi

Review:
This anime is one of the most unexpected development in the few early episodes. From the common high school life with , to a mysterious girl coming from the future to apparently save Aoba, giant mecha dropping from the sky to terminate him, and a time travel phenomenon that changes his life forever. Sounds complex right? That’s just the tip of the iceberg as the show doesn’t reveal much in the beginning. The only clues from the beginning are from the mysterious girl named Hina. Let the complexity ensure.

Story: 7/10
Buddy Complex is a mecha anime from Sunrise that does not push any boundaries, unlike Valvrave. At the first battle scene you will think that is this really not a strange anime?

"Connect with Dio"
"Acception"

What the heck??
However, the story development is very well done. The battles display differing tactics after failed attempts rather than having the same few machines doing the same few moves against each other, which happens in quite a few of Sunrise's previous mecha series. It is a delight to see how our main characters get out of the various difficult situations they are forced into.

Art: 8/10
Coming from Sunrise, it is not much of a surprise that the art and sound are well done. The character are normal, but the art of Luxon and Bradyon is nice, and when both of them in coupling mode is so damn cool, like how the wings glow and all the cg effects stuff. But the 2 mecha still look like some No-grade Gundam. If Buddy Complex have more budget, the mecha will definitely look nicer with a bit of more detail. The battles scenes are amazing and do not have a noticeable amount of re-used scenes. It is a joy to watch for the art and sound alone.

Sound: 9/10
I like both the opening and ending, except the ending somehow give me the feel of watching Gundam Seed ending(note: ending here isn't the final phase). Nevertheless, everything sounds right in this anime. The background music during the battles and while they are on standby fit in very well.

Characters: 10/10
All of the characters seem ordinary. However, they are easily likable and feel human enough not to feel two-dimensional. Also, when they get emotional, there are clear reasons behind them (i.e. their emotional spurts do not seem to be pulled out of nowhere). There are also no noticeable plot holes that I have noticed while casually watching the show. I like Hina a lot in this anime, her depicted character with her long black hair and purple eyes.

Enjoyment: 8/10
This is where the series shines for me. The anime does not become too ridiculous or too boring, and nothing about it bugs me. All the coupling scenes is good, I also enjoy how Aoba always talking about Hina as though Hina is his only one. But it's really enjoyable to see fast action mecha fight that is not one sided, even when it is, it will and must be overwhelming!

Overall: 8/10
Overall, this anime does not try to be anything out of the ordinary, but its excellent execution and animation bring this anime as one of the few good mecha anime.

Big Order

Synopsis from MAL:

Quote:Ten years ago, a child wished for the destruction of the world. Now, a group of people has the ability to grant their wishes depending on their power. They are called "Order User."

Before these great people who have the power of "Order," one person excels the most with the ability to rule and conquer the world and turn people into puppets when it is in his jurisdiction. This power belongs to Hoshimiya Eiji, who is also responsible for the destructive phenomena that happened exactly ten years ago.

Review:
Somehow this anime similar with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion (Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch) with the story and character overlapping with each other. How?

Story: 6/10
Within the early story development main characters meet with fairy like companion which grant wish, and the main character obtain power to order others without regard to their will. Main character fight against the world and also have little sister with sickness to protect, with father as the enemy.

Art: 7/10
Coming from Lantis, it is not much of a surprise that the art and sound are well done. The character are normal, yet good enough. If you enjoy watching supernatural or fantasy battle you will like this one too. Though don't expect too much.

Music: 6/10
So far i enjoy the music which enhance further the enjoyment as you watch the series. OP & ED is good enough to fit with the story.

Character: 5/10
All of the characters seems rather ordinary. Seems like a ripoff from the anime which had been aired like Mirai Nikki on the early and Lelouch later on. Character development is good but could be done better.

Enjoyment: 6/10
So far so good, I just wait to see the ending.

Overall: 6/10
Overall, this anime does not try to be anything out of the ordinary, you would be able to enjoy this without expecting too much.

hi guys  [Image: tBdLbyM.gif]

so today i decide to share this, i wanna hear how community interest for 60 fps interpolated anime
more about interpolation you can read it here: SVP | Wikipedia | CV-Foundation | sssh! [Image: LOnetZY.gif]

i've finalize my aviscript setting for double-frame, fixing weird subtitle due different mux time, also make my own x264 encoder setting to make it look smoother. but atm i wont share it yet.

for preview you may check these:

Original: MEGA | Mirrorcreator                  (External/Coalgirls Preset)
MKV     : MEGA | Dropbox | Mirrorcreator (Custom x264 Encoder, 60fps aviscript)
MP4     : MEGA | Dropbox | Mirrorcreator (Cyber12v2 Encoder, 60fps aviscript)

how is it look? do you interested watch you favourite anime on 60fps? [Image: bbxrDoC.gif]

imho if i need to re-code anime to 60fps i'd stay for MKV one. it's right if the file size is not small as MP4 but at least it's about 50% less than original source and looks way better
